Hi boys! Happy new year! Today's lesson theme is Harry Potter.

Activity 1 - Harry Potter Discussion

It's time to talk! Answer the following questions:

1. Do you like Harry Potter? Why?
2. How many of the Harry Potter books have you read?
3. Have you seen all of the Harry Potter films?
4. Which is your favourite book from the series?
5. Which is your favourite film from the series?
6. Who is  your favourite character?
7. Who is your least favourite character?

Activity 2 - Magical words

Which of these words are connected to magic? Take it in turns to write the words on the board.

Can you think of any more magical words?

Activity 3 - Reading: Interview with Daniel Radcliffe

Read the following interview. Take it in turns by reading one paragraph each.

Activity 4 - Fill in the gaps

Re-read the article to find the words that fit in the gaps. The paragraph number is given to help you.

Activity 5 - Classmate interviews

It's your turn to be the interviewer! Prepare five questions to ask your partner.

Example questions:

• What is your favourite sport?
• What do you want to be when you're grown up?
• What is your favourite book?

(when answering your partner's questions, make sure you answer in as much detail as you can!)

Activity 5 - Create your own spell

Work with a partner to create your own magical spell!

Questions to think about:

• What does the spell do?
• Who can use the spell?
• What is the name of the spell?

Once you've developed your ideas, present your spell to the rest of the class. You can even do a demonstration, if you like!
